This week at Crossing Fight School, we begin our study of the next Hidden Hew from Lew’s Longsword, the Krumphau. This incredibly versatile cut has perhaps the greatest number of applications, and is something that no KDF fencer should be without.

The Krumphau can be deployed with the long edge, the short edge, with an over-bind or under-bind, as a parry, as a defensive or offensive action, and in retreat or while advancing. Perhaps its greatest attribute is its ability to create wide openings at range that are difficult to cover, allowing the user to press an advantage and land a follow-up strike pretty reliably. If you haven’t developed this cut yet, this class will go a long way towards helping you acquire one of KDF’s most essential tools.
