This week at Crossing Fight School, we will be revisiting the Hidden Hews Review, as we have not covered this material in many weeks, and I believe there is a need to emphasize the techniques outlined therein as we approach the date of our special event in early November.

This week will feature a number of exercises involving the Schielhau, Krumphau, and Zwerchhau, and will end with an extended sparring session. Special emphasis will be placed on the Schielhau, the cut which belongs in every KDF practitioner’s arsenal. I will also be outlining what is possible if and when these cuts miss or get parried, particularly in the case of the Krumphau, which can expose you badly if things go awry.

It is my hope that what I have in mind will prove very useful to experienced and novice fighters alike, as the lesson will address both technique and improvising when the unexpected happens. I received very positive feedback after a similar class was held a while back, and I said I would put lessons similar to this together semi-regularly, so here we are. 🙂

I will be looking to get additional input from all fighters at the conclusion of this lesson, so be prepared to voice your opinions as you see fit.

See you all on Sunday.
