This week at Crossing Fight School, we’ll be doing an in-depth and intensive Hidden Hew Review, and covering some fundamental KDF material, as it appears a class like this is needed.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been approached by a few of our newer fighters and asked a number of questions regarding these and other topics. Although it’s true I’ve gone over the basics at various times on a one-on-one basis from time to time with all those who have asked, it’s clear these elements need to be given further context.
Although I have encouraged fighters to take that information and run with it, and to do research on their own, I think some of us could benefit from a class like this to round things out and fill in a few blanks.
Do you feel like something is missing from your fencing? Are you wanting to deploy certain techniques that involve our main cuts, but lack faith in the cuts themselves? If so, this will prove useful. For those already well-versed in the Hews, I encourage you to partner with those who could use your expertise so they can be brought further along. This class won’t necessarily be for beginners, but rather an intensive study of the purpose(s) and application of one of the foundations of our Art.
See you all on Sunday.
