This week at Crossing Fight School, we will continue our review of the Wallerstein material. If nothing else, this text can certainly familiarize us with what’s necessary to work from a bind and perform a variety of plays found in few other places (if any).
I’d like to reiterate that although pulling off these techniques in an active setting is awesome, what is most important is getting a feel for the mechanics and timing necessary to perform them successfully. I find that this work is particularly useful for reading what’s happening in real time and making decisions accordingly. What these plays can teach us about flowing with the fight will definitely benefit our fencing overall, which is important to keep in mind.
See you all on Sunday.
