This week at Crossing Fight School, we’ll be taking a dive back into one of the most fun pieces of source material in KDF, Codex Wallerstein. Why? Because it’s as awesone as it is unusual. Also, we’ve finished the Ringeck text and did the von Danzig text a while back, so before we launch into a new source, I thought it might be useful to review some subtle plays given to understatement, such as the Nuremberg smash & grab, the testicle stab, and the pommel push-over. There’s nothing like the gentle techniques outlined in this text to acquaint us with the finer points of fencing, wouldn’t you agree?

We’ll also be doing a FULL Hidden Hew Review, because we’ve been unable to really dive deep into each cut lately. I found the Meisterhau to be immensely useful once again in tournament fighting, so the emphasis is certainly warranted.

In a few weeks, our sabres will be arriving, so there’s certainly that to look forward to. Until then, we’ll be piecing things together over the coming weeks while we await their arrival.

See you all on Sunday.
