Good evening, all.

This week at Crossing Fight School, we will begin our lesson by taking a closer look at a few fundamental things in KDF, namely the guards themselves, and also the Vier Versetzen, the virtues of which I have long espoused.

As I have said many times, the Vier Versetzen forms a good “plan A” when confronting an opponent, and (in my opinion) reduces the number of variables you have to consider when confronting an opponent. As it happens, this is something newer fighters can benefit from immensely, primarily for the reason I just mentioned.

Speaking of displacement, we will also cover a few plays designed to deal with opponents who are intent on parrying. There are ways of overcoming a strong defense, and we’ll cover several of them if time allows.

See you all on Sunday.
