This week at Crossing Fight School, our study of Hans Medel’s Longsword continues, with more novel advice and techniques for us to examine. The plays we’ll be reviewing feature ways to break certain guards, along with other prescribed methods sometimes overlooked elsewhere. There also appears to be a technique in this section involving a very effective short edge parry, as we’ll see.

It is my hope that we will continue to fill out our tool boxes and draw inspiration from Medel’s material. So far, there’s been a little bit of everything, and the next several plays are even more promising in terms of what can be put to practical use.

See you all on Sunday. 🙂
