This week at Crossing Fight School, we will be resuming our study of the Augsburg dagger material, as we are about halfway through the plays laid out in the treatise. It’s been fun and informative so far, and the rest of the material promises to be just as useful.
It’s important to remember that these plays rely very heavily on good timing, positioning, and body control, all of which are skills necessary to grapple successfully. Because of this, whether you’re dagger fighting or not, what you learn when training this material will definitely come in handy when you find yourself at very close range, no matter what weapon you’re fighting with.
For those who are very new and primarily looking to train in Longsword, we will, if possible, give you the opportunity to learn from one of our experienced practitioners in a breakaway class.
See you all on Sunday.
