This week at Crossing Fight School, our review of Hans Medel’s Longsword continues with his commentary on the Scheitelhau. His material has proven useful and unique so far, and I trust that trend will continue.

This underrated cut doesn’t get the attention it deserves. It can be quickly deployed and can be very difficult to defend against, as it is often used when an opponent is in between actions, and targets an area that requires a decisive defensive commitment on behalf of the opponent.

For those of you still putting together your ‘tool box’, this is an essential addition that can be used at just about any point in an exchange, making it an indispensable technique.

See you all on Sunday. 🙂
