This week at Crossing Fight School, we will be having something of an experimental class which, it is hoped, will benefit experienced and newer practitioners alike. It will be based on the 5 so-called Hidden Hews, or Meisterhau, which (in part) form the basis of German Longsword.

It is all well and good to know how to throw these cuts, but when are they to be used? Also, what should we be looking for when it comes to actually pulling the trigger and using them at a moment’s notice? The aim of this lesson is to answer both of those questions and more. We’ll be setting up conditions where they are commonly deployed, and using visual and tactile input to prompt us to use these techniques when the moment arrives.

See you all on Sunday.
